njbb1995 paint work.

Post by rd » Thu Dec 20, 2007 8:31 am

I will let you all know the paint progress of njbb1995's paint job I am doing for him.

It is a paint for New Zealands A-4 Skyhawk.

The first pic is what is available.

The next two are what I have done so far.

As I do it, as time permits, I will post up pics of where I am on it.

Just took a look at your shots....nice stuff RD, more real looking with your work and a much more agreeable shade of green, too! Look forward to more shots. Can you still do this nice work if you get all fat and drunk from all the JD and ice cream?!

EDIT: Wadda mean "if" Hark........... all that ice cream's gotta be taking it's toll. Mel.

LOL... That's how I do great paints. Freeze the brain with ice cream, and drink the JD to kill the pain.

If you think I do this with a clear head, you need yours checked.

I also only have 6 hours of work on it so far. While the links were good, I found more. I want to make sure I do it right.

OMG! Is there a Jack Daniels ice cream?? If not...WHY NOT??!!

Sorry for the digression  ...looking forward to updates RD.

2 More teasers.....

Almost done.

When you get it, you will have throttle controlled custom A/B's.

If you notice, the tail number is for a one seater, this will be correct for a two seater. Oh yeah, notice the No Step boot marks on the bomb fins.

OK, I am done with this one. The two seater.

Next up is doing the one seater. And that one will be harder, and take more time.

Here's two pics of the finished two seater, and two of the one seater.

RD

PS: Almost done with a decent A/B effect for this bird.

OH MY....

Did alittle more searching for Njbb's A4 Skyhawk. http://motty.hobbyvista.com/A-4s-01/A4-Index-01.html

Funny what you can find if you search for it. Will start on the camo paint single seater in a few days, when things relax alittle.

Sorry, but I have a better use for latex............... Painting my house.

Seriously though. I am making my own paint kit for this thing, so I can do a good job on the camo version. Right now, I am about 10% done with it (the paint kit). When the paint kit is done, I'll turn one into your latex version.

I can send you the one I have done, when you get home. But for the camo version, it will be a little while, sorry.

This is a quickie teaser of where I am on it. No where close to being done yet. Alot of details still need to be done, as well as finishing the paint. So it will look alot different than what you see now.

If you mean the first one, the 2 seater, yes, it is done.

I'll probably upload it on Monday to AVSIM. When it is available, I will let you all know, and post up a link to it.

No need to worry about it. I will include a readme.

I'll upload the WHOLE package tomorrow to AVSIM. That means it is a complete package, with all the rights/credits given to all involved with it.

All you have to do, is install it like any other download.

And here is another teaser shot.

No, that is one of 3 of my security police cars that protect my paint jobs.

And you don't want to mess with them. They are meaner than me.... if that's possible.

Sorry for the delay of developments.

The first 2 shots are of the finished 2 seater. Which came out well, I think.

The next 3, took alot more time to do. Making the custom squadron badge, took along time to do, but is accurate to the real a/c.

I trashed the camo one I was doing. Way too bright, and wrong colors. I wasn't happy with it, so it is gone, and I am starting all over again.

I did upload the first paint, but AVSIM kicked it out. Butt heads. When I finish the camo job, I will upload them all as one package.

I'm really sorry this is taking so long. But life and work (more work), takes up alot of time.

Nice work bud, she's a beaut (both versions). Looking forward to getting ahold of them when you're all done. Enjoy the weekend - hopefully some time off for ya to re-visit the camo job.

@%*()^$#!%&((^$#@[email protected]^

After 4 days arguing with AVSIM, and thier policies, I have to do it this way. I have to use Yousendit.

I tried multiple times to contact the plane builder, and the author of the panel, that is awesome. But I had no replies, after several attempts.
I could have just sent them as repaints, but it seems easier, if I send it as a full package.

Either way, I am done with all the paints. And if you want it, go here:

If you didn't get it, this is what the CAMO version looks like.

EDIT: Hmmm, seems like I got the following error......

"Sorry, but the maximum filesize for all attachments is reached. Please contact the Board Administrator if you have questions."

And this was for trying to upload just the first pic. 1280 x 960 115kb.

Hey "G", what's going on???

This was what I was saying a few weeks back RD, Percy Prune tried to attach a few pics in the Maddie Forum, and got the same message as you, I have tried, and it's the same for everyone.
