GPS NAVIGATOR/COLLABORATOR NEEDED

Post by jaeger52 » Mon Dec 10, 2012 9:39 pm

Hello! My name is Bruce *beep*. I am a long time, upstanding, senior member of of the SurClaro Forums.

I am looking for a partner or collaborator who is well versed in air navigation and more particularly with the operation and use of the GPS navigation system in FSX. The functions of the GPS system have always been a source of frustration for me. I simply haven't been able to master its intricacies. That is why I am seeking the help of someone well versed in its operation and willing to help do some problem solving for me.

I am considering producing an historical FSX video interpretation of a poignant moment in American History. More details will be shared at a later time. As stated above, I am looking for a "navigator/collaborator"; someone who can pin point certain GPS coordinates along a particular route over the Rocky Mountains, from Utah to California. If the project comes to fruition, your name will be listed at the top of the list of contributors in the final video credits.

If you are interested, please contact me via Personal Mail (PM) here at SurClaro, or send an introductory email to:

bschaffer1952@gmail.com

Thank you.

Bruce *beep* (aka jaeger52)

Hiya Brucie,

Cat uploaded a tut for the Garmin on here somewhere, I know because I printed it off, I'll see if I can track it down, It's pretty comprehensive and not complicated, i'll see if I can find it.

Email coming soon also, sit tight

Mel.

Mel,

Yes, now that you mention it, I do remember Cat's work on this subject. I may even have been one of those who posted, seeking help. To be honest, the whole *beep* thing seemed too complicated for me at the time and I'm sure that I probably threw up my hands in despair/disgust over my inability to c r a c k the secrets of the GPS, even with Cat's tutorial!!! Alas, I'm not quite as patient and studious as I would like YOU to believe. I'll look into the boards also and see if I can find it, unless you beat me to it. :-" In the mean time, I'll look forward to your coming email. Thanks Mel :)

Needless to say that my desire for outside navigational help still stands. Someone's help would take a load off of my shoulders, freeing me up a bit to get on with the heart of the project I'm proposing. If anyone is willing to pitch in, I would be most grateful. What I am proposing is nothing elaborate: basically a dozen or so start and stop coordinates.

Bruce

Bruce I have searched through just about everything here and I cant find Cats GPS Tut anywhere, I did find a reference to it being avaialable in our Search for Maddie support site, but that now seems to be down and defunked, I think apart from my printed copy of it,I think it's gone, unless Cat can be contacted to see if he still has it somewhere, I dont mind trying to make contact with him, assuming his email addy is still current.

I did come across these on my travels through the archives on here, they may help.
