FSX Carrier problem
Not sure what happened, but I've got a problem with all of my FSX Enterprise carriers. Reinstalled the scenery, added the flatten .bgl, moved it to the top on the scenery list, but low and be-hold, I start at the level of the ship, on the mountain, on the water?? WTH!!! All of the Enterprises look like this, all ten of them. And when it loads up, I am INSIDE the carrier, sitting on top of the mountain, in the bottom of the carrier.
If anybody has any clues, let me know. All of these ARE for FSX, so I should be good, but I'm not.

Wow, not seen anything like that before, if you have the flatten bgl, then the only thing that springs to mind, maybe...... unless I am barking up the wrong tree.. could it be something like the hight, as in when an A/c sits on the ground and looks like it's floating ie: contact points.
That's all I can think off right now.

Looks like an AFCAD issue. When you harden a surface using the AFCAD method, if not done right, the ground will pull up to where the four 'harden' corners are indicated in AFCAD. Stab in the dark.

Yeah, installed the flatten.bgl several times, even trying the one for FS9. Looks like I'm going to have to find some way to figure this out. Dang

I'll have a look towards any clues as well... seem to remember Mel steering me to an AFCAD 'hardened surface' tutorial years ago, & there was an explanation in there as to how the 'pulled up ground' thang happens & how to avoid it. Ya never know. Best of luck on your side too.

Hiya RD - don't know if you already have this info. Mel did steer me to a tute back then & I re-found it here; http://www.fs2000.org/index.php/downloa ... cellaneous by searching the site for afc-hard.zip, it's by David 'Opa' Marshall, and is under the first description heading 'FS2004 AFCAD TUTORIAL'. It's at Flightsim.com too, but that one requires registration blah blah blah.
Please disregard if you're already all over this like Oprah on a baked ham.
I've excerpted a few bits from the .PDF (with full credits included, hope this is OK);

Re: FSX Carrier problem
Whew, got it fixed last night. Started thinking about it, and my old hard drive was good. Loaded it up, and found the original files in my Downloads folder. Removed all the Big E's, and loaded up. Low and behold, all is right with the world again. Now to install the other 9 and see what happens (yes, one at a time, and test, to make sure).
It has to do with the flatten file. Can't remember where I got it, but it is a bad one, as you can tell.
I'll hold onto this one and save it on a disc so I don't lose it, or if anyone ever needs it. RIGHT ON!!!
